Fancy spotting a dolphin?
Porpoises, seals, ocean sunfish, (even an occasional dolphin!) as well as a myriad of seabirds, all seen regularly from the seafront in Ilfracombe!
Want to find out more? Just join Chris and Sharron, Sea Watch Foundation regional coordinators for North Devon during the Sea Ilfracombe Maritime Festival at Windy Corner, Capstone and we’ll help you spot our local marine wildlife.
Now in their 15th year as volunteers with Sea Watch they’ve recorded over 1000 porpoise sightings from Capstone.
They will also be providing advice on how you can become a volunteer Sea Watcher and tell you all about the Sea Watch Adopt a Dolphin scheme.
So join Chris & Sharron at Windy Corner over the festival weekend at 1pm and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting).
The Sea Watch Foundation is a national charity working to improve the conservation and protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises in British and Irish waters.
Every year it organises a national watch week to raise awareness and understanding of marine mammals and the threats they face.
